Status: Operating · Independence Charter Township, Oakland County, MI · Postal brand Clarkston.

Waterford Hills Road Racing (WHRRI) still runs club events on Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club (OCSC) land at 4770 Waterford Rd. The path around the hills has been the same circuit since 1958–59; the 2018–19 rebuild changed surface and drainage, not the venue’s public status. As of 22 Sep 2026 there is no public sale listing and no rezoning watch in the township packets we checked.

Three desks on the record: WHRRI operates race days. OCSC owns the land (IRS 501(c)(4) civic league, EIN 38-1312323 — gifts there are not 501(c)(3) deductible). Independence Township zones the parcel. Do not confuse that with neighboring Waterford Township.

A 1964 consent judgment still shapes days and hours; club rules still cite a 75 dBA property-line cap. Primary sources for the next move: Independence Township Planning Commission packets and the WHRRI calendar.
